Brighton Marine Inc., a nonprofit social enterprise serving veterans and military-connected families through healthcare, housing, and coordinated support services, today announced it will begin operating under the organizational name BrightonOne, reflecting the growth of an integrated model designed to address the social and economic factors that shape long-term wellbeing.
For more than four decades, Brighton Marine has worked to improve outcomes for veterans and military-connected families through coordinated healthcare, housing stability initiatives, and wraparound services. The introduction of BrightonOne reflects the organization’s belief that lasting outcomes are shaped not only by clinical care, but also by the social and economic factors that influence health, opportunity, and stability.
As BrightonOne, the organization will continue its longstanding commitment to veterans and military-connected families while advancing an integrated approach that brings together healthcare, housing, and coordinated support services under a single mission-driven framework.
“BrightonOne is the new organizational name for Brighton Marine Inc., but our mission remains unchanged,” said Rosye Cloud, chief executive officer. “The new name better reflects the model we have been building toward for years – one that recognizes that healthcare, housing, stability, and opportunity are deeply connected. It reflects our belief that the best outcomes are achieved when people come together – one team united by a common purpose. The introduction of BrightonOne reflects our belief that lasting outcomes are shaped not only by clinical care, but also by the social and economic factors that influence health, opportunity, and stability. If we are serious about improving outcomes, we must be equally serious about addressing those factors.”
“We have learned that meaningful, long-term impact requires more than isolated interventions,” Cloud said. “Healthcare matters. Housing matters. Stability matters. Opportunity matters. BrightonOne reflects our commitment to strengthening the whole person and delivering measurable outcomes that improve lives.”
As part of the transition, BrightonOne also introduced EverRise, a family of mission-aligned operating entities focused on healthcare, housing, and coordinated support services.
Among those entities is EverRise Health, which administers the US Family Health Plan of Southern New England. The organizational changes do not affect member benefits, provider networks, eligibility, or access to care.
The announcement comes as the organization continues to expand several key initiatives, including the growth of its master leasing program, which helps create stable housing opportunities for veterans facing barriers to long-term stability. Building on the success of the model in Massachusetts, BrightonOne is expanding housing opportunities into Groton, Connecticut, and evaluating additional opportunities throughout Southern New England.
BrightonOne also recently acquired Promise Pathways, a nonprofit focused on helping veterans and military-connected individuals build stability, connection, and opportunity through mentorship, transition support, and community engagement. Former professional quarterback BJ Coleman will serve as executive director of the organization.
To help guide its next chapter of growth, BrightonOne established a National Advisory Board chaired by Jon Santiago, former Massachusetts secretary of veterans services. Additional members will be announced in the coming weeks.
“The past several years have reinforced something important for us,” Cloud said. “Periods of disruption can also create moments of clarity. They can sharpen mission, strengthen discipline, and create the opportunity to build systems that are more resilient, more focused, and better prepared to serve people well into the future. That is the spirit in which BrightonOne moves forward.”
BrightonOne formally introduced its new organizational identity during an event held June 18 at its campus in Brighton, Massachusetts.
